It is indeed, possible to organize a well-equipped and orderly laundry room. Learn how to create a laundry room that would make washing clothes a pleasure and not a chore

Doing laundry is a chore that needs to be done pretty much every day and by making a laundry room organized and orderly, it is possible to enjoy doing laundry and make it speedier and more efficient. Simply by having a neat, clean and organized laundry room, you can make washing clothes easy and even, something you may look forward to. Here are some simple laundry room organization ideas.

Create the Space for Laundry

If you don’t already have dedicated space to do your laundry, now may be a good time to create some space. So, take a good look around and see if you need shelves or cabinets to store laundry room essentials. In case, you’re cramped for space and a little tight on money, you can easily fit some inexpensive shelves to create extra laundry storage. So, you will have everything that you need to do your laundry in one place.

Organize the Laundry Room

Organize the space available according to type and need. If you have a cabinet for storing laundry essentials, use dividers and clear containers with labels. Put up a small whiteboard, or even just a pen and paper to jot down things that you may be running out of. A handy stain removal guide will be a big help and so will small containers to hold clothes pegs and pocket change.

Always Keep Separate Laundry Bags

To make doing laundry easy and quick, keep separate laundry bags- one for whites and the other for coloreds. And if you can manage, you can even have a separate one for your delicates and one for your linen. So, all you will need to do is reach into that laundry bag and toss everything into the machine, without having to spend time sorting and separating. It will also take care of the post-wash sorting exercise.

Keep Iron and Ironing Table Handy

If the laundry room is big enough, prop up your ironing table and iron right there. Keep a stool on which you can sit while ironing. This will allow you to iron your clothes right away and not have to come back for them later. Even if your laundry room is small, you could easily, fold up your ironing table and hang it up on the wall and keep the iron on a shelf.

Make the Laundry Room Look Nice

The reason doing laundry seems like a chore is because laundry rooms tend to look drab and dreary. So, transform it into an appealing and relaxing zone.

  • Add a small vase with fresh flowers.
  • Put up framed pictures or your children’s artworks
  • If there are windows, hang pretty curtains.
  • Add a rug or floor cushions around the ironing area. This will give other family members a place to sit around and join you during ironing.

Use these easy to do steps to liven up your laundry room and make washing clothes easy and fun. With a presentable and welcoming laundry room, other family members, too, may be motivated enough to take on the task every once in a while. So, give your laundry room a facelift and enjoy the results that come with it.
